OUR STORY

At Baby Ronin, we don't just craft jewelry; we create pieces that tell a story. Our journey began when Dunk and Kato met during a biker rally in Mongol, both sharing a passion for freedom, authenticity, and the art of craftsmanship.

Dunk, 42, is the dreamer. Growing up amidst the rugged mountains of Colorado, he developed a love for the outdoors and a keen eye for design. He views the world through a "baby eye"—a raw, untainted perspective that finds beauty in the simplest things. For Dunk, every piece of jewelry is an adventure waiting to be discovered.

"I want our designs to feel like they've been on a journey," Dunk says. "Not over-polished, not over-perfect. Just real."

Kato, 45, is the craftsman. From a young age, he was captivated by the spirit of the ronin—the samurai who lived by their own code, embracing loyalty, bravery, and resilience. He saw in the ronin a form of freedom, not one of escape, but of living authentically, no matter the challenges life throws at you.

"It's not just about fighting," Kato reflects. "It's about staying true to yourself, no matter what the world expects of you."

For Kato, craftsmanship is paramount. Each Baby Ronin piece is made with patience, precision, and passion, reflecting his unwavering commitment to quality.

"Craftsmanship isn't just about making something beautiful," Kato says. "It's about making something that lasts. Something that carries history and soul."

Initially, their studio was located in Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata, Japan—an area known for its rich history in traditional craftsmanship. In 2024, Dunk and Kato made the bold decision to expand their vision and showcase their creations to a global audience, moving their studio to Hong Kong.

Together, Dunk and Kato founded Baby Ronin with a simple vision: to create a brand that blends boundless creativity with meticulous craftsmanship. They aim to craft jewelry for men who embrace freedom, individuality, and authenticity.

"We're not just making accessories," Dunk explains. "We're making modern armor. Jewelry that tells a story. As strong and untamed as the man who wears it."

Their studio is filled with sketches, vintage motorcycle parts, samurai armor, and various items that inspire their creations.

"It's a bit of a mess," Kato laughs. "But we like it that way. When things are a little out of control, that's when we create our best work."

At Baby Ronin, they believe jewelry is more than just an accessory.

"It's a symbol," Kato says. "It's a reminder of who you are and what you stand for. We're creating pieces that honor men who aren't afraid to walk their own path."

Dunk adds, "For us, jewelry is personal. It's a rebellion against conformity. It's about being free to be yourself, no matter what the world says."

Welcome to Baby Ronin. Wear your spirit. Wear your story. Wear your freedom.
